Coronavirus: US surpasses three million cases

On Tuesday, the United States of America surpassed three million cases of COVID-19. Infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says the country is still in its first coronavirus wave. Despite the increasing number of cases, the White House continues to push for reopening schools and will have the CDC issue guidance on how to proceed. The guidelines suggest that students and staff all wear face coverings, stay home if necessary, and that schools use staggered timetables and follow socially distanced seating arrangements when they reopen in the fall. In Oklahoma, health officials have said that President Trump’s campaign rally and the protests that occurred a few weeks ago have likely contributed to the spike seen in local cases.
