Large parts of Ontario are hoping to soon move towards Stage 3 of the province’s COVID-19 reopening plan. It has been nearly three weeks since most parts of the province have moved to Stage 2 and data from 24 public health units show that the spread of the virus is largely contained. Province-level discussions are currently taking place on when to announce Stage 3 and some speculate that announcements may come within the next week or so. In the province’s general reopening framework, Stage 3 would include reopening all workplaces responsibly and further relaxing restrictions on public gatherings. Even as we enter Stage 3, public health measures such as physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand-washing are expected to remain in effect.
