The mayor of Miami-Dade county in southern Florida has announced an indefinite curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The move comes after beaches in southern Florida were ordered to be closed for the July 4th holiday weekend. On Thursday, Florida saw 10,109 new cases of COVID-19, exceeding single-day tallies from any European country at the height of the outbreak there. Overall, the U.S. continues to struggle to contain the COVID-19 pandemic as it records more than 50,000 new cases for the second day. California, Texas, and Florida seem to be the new epicentres.
