As the world waits with bated breaths for a coronavirus vaccine, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the U.S., today made a statement that gives hope to the possibility of a vaccine by the end of the year. But, he remains cautiously optimistic and emphasized the importance of establishing safety and effectiveness before rushing into production and mass vaccination. During his statement today, he also mentioned the critical nature of the upcoming weeks in order to address the surging COVID-19 cases in Florida, Texas and Arizona.
