Coronavirus: German outbreak sparks fresh local lockdowns

For the first time since Germany began lifting restrictions in May, a lockdown has been reintroduced where a meatpacking plant experienced an outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Over 1,500 workers tested positive, and all employees are currently under a mandatory quarantine enforced by police. The neighbouring district of Warendorf has also reimposed lockdown restrictions. Schools and nurseries have been closed, as well as bars, museums, cinemas and gyms.
