The Canada-U.S. border has been closed to non-essential travel since March which has been extended until June 21 for now. The border is still open to commercial traffic and essential workers. For some families separated on opposite sides of the border, PM Trudeau has stated that he will be working with premiers to reunite families sooner than the June 21 opening date. However, premiers have conflicting opinions, including some who express concern over the detrimental effects of potential spread.
