Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Ontario are among the first provinces to reopen the economy after social distancing measures were put in place across Canada in mid-March. Some outdoors activities, including vehicle access to parks and golf, reopened in Alberta this weekend. Alberta’s three-stage plan begins with non-urgent surgeries and other health services (e.g. dentistry and physiotherapy) on Monday. Saskatchewan is also allowing medical services to open on Monday, although golf courses will remain closed until May 15 and retail stores will open to the public on May 19. In Quebec, retail stores with outside entrances, daycares, businesses, construction, and schools will generally open throughout the month.
