Ontario has reported a new high in the number of tests done in a single day at 16,532 samples on Thursday. Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer, estimates that Ontario’s capacity allows for the processing of 19,500 samples daily. However, this number is limited by how many samples are collected and transported to public health labs and facilities.
