India’s nationwide coronavirus lockdown has been extended to May 18. During this time, air and rail travel remain prohibited, schools, restaurants, and places of worship also remain closed. New guidelines have been made to update the country’s zoning system. Metropolitan areas are classified as red zones and remain under strict lockdown measures. Areas with no confirmed cases for 21 days are classified as green zones, where relaxations on lockdown measures may be considered.
