On Sunday, Chinese health officials reported that there are no remaining coronavirus cases in hospitals in the city of Wuhan, where the global pandemic started. The city had reported over 46,000 cases in total—over half of the nation’s count—and 3,869 deaths. Wuhan has relaxed restrictions since its 2-month lockdown, but is still testing residents regularly for COVID-19. The focus in China has since shifted to Heilongjiang, a northeast border province, which has seen new COVID-19 cases believed to be entering from Russia.
