A look at when and how Canada could reopen after COVID-19 closures

Based on federal COVID-19 modelling, Trudeau said last week that some of Canada’s restrictions could potentially be loosened sometime in the summer. However, he cautioned that the virus dictates timelines and not us, pointing to a vaccine as the only real end to this pandemic. Nevertheless, if we were to reopen it would see different provinces in the country taking different strategies. Even then, businesses that remain high risk such as restaurants may not open up for months after initial “loosening up”.
