On Sunday, South Korea reported an increase of eight COVID-19 cases, the first time their daily increase has dropped to single digits in the past two months. The country’s total number of cases sits at 10,661, with 234 reported deaths. South Korea’s cases have been waning in recent weeks, after experiencing the greatest increases in late February and early March. In Japan, 568 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Sunday, raising their total cases to 11,073. The true number of cases is estimated to be higher, as Japan is only starting to increase its testing capacity by setting up additional test centres in Tokyo and other major cities.
