Ontario has done the fewest tests, per capita, than any other province in Canada with a total of 81,364 tests. As of Tuesday morning, 379 additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, bringing the total to 4,726. Of the confirmed cases, 11% are healthcare workers. The province had promised to complete 5,000 tests daily by late March and ramp up to 19,000 daily by the third week of April. However, less than 5,000 tests per day have been completed since April 3rd. In addition, although a shipment of much needed masks are expected today, the province still faces a major shortage of key supplies and could be out of masks in less than two weeks. Domestic production of masks is in the process, but will not be able to contribute to supplies for several weeks.
