Ontario had the highest single day increase in new cases, 351, bringing the morning total to 1,706. Current backlog of testing is down from over 11,000 to 5,651. The province is now advising anyone over the age of 70 or with an underlying health condition to stay home and self-isolate. A long-term care home in Ontario cottage country has had 7 residents die due to COVID-19, with at least 34 of the 66 staff members reporting some symptoms of COVID-19. There may be more than the reported 18 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units in Toronto.
